Emily Broadaway
Sustainability Analyst,
Avara Foods
Emily works as the Sustainability Analyst for Avara Foods; she joined nearly two years ago after graduating from the University of Southampton with a BSc in Environmental Management with Business. Her main area of focus is carbon footprinting, calculating Avara Foods’ Scope 1,2&3 emissions. She also looks at other environmental data such as waste, water and plastics. Having good quality data helps to ensure that climate action and mitigation is data-driven, built upon scientific principles and therefore meaningful. Over the past year Avara have been working on moving their Scope 3 footprint away from spend based data to activity data, by collaborating and working closely with suppliers.
