Hari Ghotra
Hari Ghotra has the best job in the world - she is an Indian cook, author and the founder of the biggest Indian food digital platform in the UK. Her website and social platforms feature hundreds of easy to follow recipes, videos, articles and live weekly cooking sessions that attract a global audience. Her community App is a real time location with a thriving community of food lovers who share pictures and ideas, it’s a place Hari communicates with her followers daily.
She is also the global food and beverage development manager for a major airline where she manages over thirty catering units across the world. She is responsible for the global food offering and works with incredible chefs to produce the most amazing in-flight menus for passengers. This involves developing the food proposition for each of the cabins, ensuring suitability for different passenger demographics as well as sourcing, sustainability, dietary constraints, delivery, as well as commercial considerations.
Having trained as a Biologist at Bath University she went on to work for Unilever as a food microbiologist. Hari went on to undertake a MSc in Marketing Management for food and drinks related industries at Cranfield business school and secured a position on the Tesco graduate training scheme. After 14 years with Tesco PLC working in a number of different disciplines she went on to create her food business Hari Ghotra.
This culminated in her training at Michelin-starred Tamarind of Mayfair to understand the restaurant world and she now contributes to many publications, creates engaging online content, consults and works with many different food and equipment brands, teaches and has published three recipe books.
