Joanne has run her food and drink export and import distribution, sales agency and consultancy business Food sans Frontières for over 30 years. She has been working for the most part with SMEs, developing sales and distribution all over Europe including into the UK, with a French office for over 20 years and with particular expertise in Spain. Joanne speaks and writes French, German and Spanish fluently plus speaks Italian and Farsi, specialises in project managing multilingual packaging and technical information and has built up contacts and partnerships globally. She has in depth knowledge of the foodservice as well as retail and industrial sales channels, import and export procedures and documentation plus logistics especially for frozen and chilled products.

As expert consultant, under the UK-funded Export Communications Review scheme plus other UK and International projects, she has helped hundreds of SME companies to review the best international markets for their products and the most effective, often multilingual communication strategies for success, covering people, packaging, technical information, websites and cultural differences. This ability to plan with suppliers the most effective short, medium and longer term strategy for international growth has now benefited many suppliers globally.
