John is the Program Manager at the Alternative Proteins Association, one of the largest its kind in Europe, designed to promote the value of alternative proteins in the UK. The APA aims to tackle the challenges of food insecurity, climate change, and intensive farming by helping the UK become a world leader in alternative proteins and inspiring collective action. John holds a masters degree in Engineering and was previously a Net Zero Energy Consultant Engineer at Arup & Partners delivering projects, working with stakeholders including energy and finance companies, local government, universities and the PM’s Business Council. He also brings experience working as a Policy Advisor at DEFRA and working on an award winning iGEM synthetic biology research project. John has long held a passion for food and alternative proteins even founding his own fungi based alt protein company during university!
