Since studying Hotel Management at the University of New Hampshire, USA, some 25 years ago, Matt Wood has held a number of high-profile operational roles at 5-star hotels and restaurants, including the Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane and the Harbour Club in Chelsea. Matt’s career in corporate foodservice started in the early 2000s and he has held senior operational and strategic management roles with direct responsibility for leading national accounts. He was delighted to be awarded a ‘Foodservice Catey’ in 2015. In January 2022, Matt joined Lexington as Managing Director. Lexington is an award-winning contract caterer with a workforce of c.1100 employees working across 150 client sites in the UK, and has grown into one of the UK’s leading business/industry and independent schools’ caterers, working with some of the world’s most successful global brands. Lexington champion sustainable and social value causes – especially around responsible sourcing, use and re-use of ingredients – as well as helping to provide career opportunities and food for those in need. Whilst conscious that these initiatives promote positive CSR messaging, Matt’s personal rationale for engagement is simply to do the right thing for the communities in which he lives and works.
