Mike Williams
Mike Williams is the proud co-founder of Flake Bake Ltd, the largest producer of authentic handmade Jamaican patties in London. With an undergraduate degree in Economics and Politics and an MSc in Business from Warwick University, Mike partnered with his father to establish their bakery in Peckham. Over twelve years, Flake Bake has grown to supply over 20,000 handcrafted patties weekly to local takeaways, restaurants, and street food vendors.
Under Mike’s leadership, Flake Bake has achieved remarkable milestones, including winning Channel 4’s Aldi’s Next Big Thing in 2024. This success saw the company sell over 190,000 Jamaican Beef patties in its first three Special Buys. Beyond their handcrafted range, which sells over a million patties annually, Flake Bake now holds a multimillion pound contract with Aldi, supplying their award winning Jamaican Beef patties nationwide.
Mike’s entrepreneurial journey has garnered widespread media attention, with features in The Grocer and The Independent, alongside appearances on ITV News, Channel 4 News, BBC London News, and BBC Radio 4 and Radio 5. His achievements have earned him recognition as one of HSBC’s Top 25 Black Entrepreneurs for 2024 and the Entrepreneur Rising Star 2024 at the UK Black British Business Awards.
