Forward Fooding today announced the full 2025 FoodTech 500 ranking at IFE Manufacturing 2026 (#IFEM26), the UK’s leading food and drink manufacturing event, held at ExCeL London. Founders Alessio D’Antino and Max Leveau took to the Future Food Stage to break down the trends reshaping AgriFoodTech and unveil the companies leading the charge.

A Ranking That Reflects a Maturing Sector
The 2025 edition reveals a decisive shift from consumer-facing innovations to infrastructure-building technologies addressing fundamental challenges in the global food system. Agtech leads the cohort at 35.4% (177 companies, up from 32.6% in 2024), while Surplus & Waste Management has grown to 13.4% (67 companies). Capital efficiency has become the defining theme: 80% of finalists are revenue-generating (up from 74% in 2024), even as seed rounds hold steady and Series A funding contracts.
Diversity is also reaching record levels. Female-founded companies account for 38% of the ranking (up from 34%), and BAME-founded companies represent 26% (up 62.5% from 16% in 2024). Europe dominates geographically with 54.8% of finalists (274 companies), driven by strong policy tailwinds for agricultural innovation and the circular economy.
